hard boiled eggs
put eggs in cold water over the top of the eggs. Put lots of salt in the water to help seperate the egg shell from the meat. Turn the heat up so they boil, let them boil gently for 8 minutes. Once time is up put them in cold water and let them cool.
I did it again for potato salad for a little more firmer center boil for 15 minutes then immediately put in cold water.

I learned that if you put just a splash of apple cider vinegar in the pot as well it helps prevent the eggs from cracking once inside
